Useful Information

Before Your Appointment

As your appointment approaches, our system will send you reminder and text confirmation messages. Alternatively, our friendly staff will give you a call the day before to confirm your appointment. This appointment time has been set-aside specifically for you, so please make sure you give us plenty of notice if you are unable to attend.

Please note 24 hours notice is required if you cancel or change your appointment, or fees may apply.

Anxious Patients

We strive to make your visit as pleasant and calming as possible. We understand that not everyone enjoys going to the dentist, especially if they have had unpleasant or traumatic experiences in the past.

Local Anaesthetics are used regularly for dental treatment that may cause you pain. A numbing gel is used before the anaesthetic is given so that you don’t feel any pain at all. Local anaesthetics allow for more efficient treatment, resulting in your visit to the dentist being shorter than you think!

Your First Visit

On your first consultation with our Browns Plains dentist, a comprehensive oral exam is performed to assess the condition of your gums and teeth, and address any concerns you may have for example improving your smile. At this appointment, small intra-oral x-rays are required to completely assess and diagnose the condition of your teeth and bones in areas that the dentist cannot view clinically. Our intra-oral cameras allow the dentist to give you a full digital tour of your mouth so you can see for yourself what really is going on in there.

Ongoing Care

Following a complete check-up, the most important part of regular care and maintenance of your teeth and gums is a professional clean and fluoride treatment. Keeping your mouth healthy is essential not only for your teeth and gums, but for your overall health and well-being too. Tartar, also known as calculus, builds up over a period of time and can only be removed by your dentist. It is recommended that a professional clean and fluoride application is done every 6 months to remove the tartar and help keep your gums and teeth healthy.

Payment Options

We understand that many people are short on time, that’s why we have introduced HiCaps, where you can claim from your health fund on the spot, instead of physically going to your health fund to claim your money back. We accept all Health Funds, including Medibank Private, Bupa, HCF, CBHS and AHM.

We accept cash, MasterCard and Visa card. We now also accept American Express Cards. Unfortunately, we don’t accept Diner’s Card, so please make sure you have an alternate payment method ready for your visit.

At Dental Aspects we realise that it is important to begin preventative dental care at an early age, that’s why we have decided to bulk bill and accept the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme, with no out-of-pocket expenses for eligible children. For information on eligibility and the scheme, go to http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/medicare/child-dental-benefits-schedule, or call 132 011.

Dental Aspects welcomes and accepts all DVA patients.

We currently do not have any direct payment plans in place, however, we recommend you look into ZipPay, which provide payment plans. ZipPay helps you get your dental treatment sorted without the hassle of worrying about the financial side.

Smile.com.au is a membership program that allows you to have reduced dental fees on most treatments. Dental Aspects has partnered with Smile to allow you to benefit from this membership program. This is a great option for those who do not have private health insurance, and are looking for a way to reduce their dental costs. To apply, visit www.smile.com.au, or call them on 1300 238 648.
